Detailed Itinerary :
Day 1 : On arrival Leh
- Enjoy the flight into Leh, the capital of Ladakh, on your arrival at the Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport, Leh (11562 ft) – the land of brave hearts; you will be greeted by our representative who will guide you to your transfer to your hotel for check in.
- Due to sudden arrival at high altitude of Leh you are advised to rest in order to acclimatize with the conditions. In the evening stroll around Leh Market( By Own ).
Day 2 : Leh – Lamayuru – Kargil
- Today we proceed to Kargil via Fotu La Pass and Namki La pass. Kargil is known as the location of the Indo-Pakistani border war of 1999 En route we visit Patthar Sahib Gurudwara – a beautiful Gurudwara sahib constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, Magnetic Hill – also known as Gravity Hill where vehicles defy the force of gravity, Sangam of the rivers Indus & Zanskar – two of Himalaya’s great rivers; Zanskar and Indus merge to form a spectacular view, Moon land – the land resembles that of moon, Lamayuru Monastery – one of the largest and oldest gompas in Ladakh. In the evening we arrive at Kargil.
Day 3 : Kargil | Drass | Leh
- Today we proceed to Drass, here we visit Drass War Memorial, also known as Vijay Memorial – built in the memory of the martyr soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War. Then we visit Mulbekh Monastery. In the evening we arrive at Leh.
Day 4 : Leh | Nubra Valley (120 kms / 5 hrs)
- Post breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif.Nubra Valley is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram range and Ladakh range of the Himalayas. On the way visit DiskitMonastery . Evening visit the Sand Dunes. Here you can enjoy a camel ride on the Bactrian camel which is known for its double hump (at own cost ) and ATV Ride ( at own cost ) . Return back to the camp / Hotel for dinner.
Day 5 : Nubra | Turtuk | Nubra
- After breakfast, proceed to turtuk . Turtuk falls in Baltistan- the place was under Pakistani control till 1971, so it is predominantly Muslim. Don’t miss the chance to interact with the locals and their friendly behaviour – the whole feel is like being in Pakistan. Just 7kms away from PoK, this is a beautiful little place offering raw beauty. You can try delicious apricots here which are a major source of income for the locals. Visit Turtuk Waterfall and Turtuk Museum later on. Enjoy the magnificent view of K2 peak while walking around. In the evening back to hunder for your Overnight stay at same.
Day 6 : Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake ( 115 km / 5-6 hrs )
- Leave early Morning towards Pangong Lake via Shyok valley and River. Pangong Lake is situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m) is a long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly 6to 7 kilometers at its widest point and over 130km in length. It is bisected by the international border between India and China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake lies in rich deep blue colour of its water and one rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable trip. It attracted people from all over the country and beyond. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at Camp / Cottage.
Day 7 : Pangong Tso – Chusul-Hanle
- Today you will drive along the pangong and will be headed to Hanle. Hanle in Changthang region of Ladakh is one of the most remote places in India. Hanle monastery is a 17th century monastery of the Drukpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan buddhism. Monastery is home to about 60 monks. The main monastery, one of the largest and best known of ladakh’s monasteries, was built under the protange of the kind singee namgyal. The views from the top of monastery are just breathtaking. Hanle also houses an Indian Astronomical Observatory which is the highest observatory in the world. Hanle observatory also houses 2nd largest Gama Ray telescope in the world. You will be mesmerized by the milky way and stars that you will see in the night . Enjoy your Dinner and Overnight stay at hanle.
Day 8 : Hanle – Leh via Chumathang (220 Kms / 07 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive back to Leh via Chumathang( Hot Spring ) . Chumathang at an altitude of 4,000m, where you can find few eateries and have a tea break. Chumathang is famous for its mineral-rich hot springs that are reputed to treat skin diseases and joint pains. You’ll drive back on the same route till Mahe bridge and then take the beautiful road along the river Indus to Leh. Arrive Leh for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9 : Leh city tour + shanti stupa,leh palace and market
- After breakfast take a full day excursion to renowned monasteries of Ladakh region. Visit Thiksey monastery, Hemis monastery which is one of the most famous monasteries of the Ladakh region. On the way back to Leh visit Shindhu Ghat , Shey Palace and 3 Idiot Fame Rancho School. In the evening visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
Day 10 : Depart- Leh
- Your last morning in Leh, enjoy your breakfast and proceed to Leh airport to board flight back to destination. Journey ends with exotic memories and stories to be related once back home.
